یکی بود، یکی نبود

“Yeki bud, yeki nabud” (literally, “Once one there was, and once one wasn’t”)—the Persian equivalent of “Once upon a time” and “Olipa kerran”—marks the beginning of a tale, situating events between truth and fantasy. For me, art works in a similar way: it weaves together environment, resources, knowledge, tools, and ideas, holding multiple narratives that reflect both presence and absence within a story.
