“Yeki bud, yeki nabud” (literally, “Once one there was, and once one wasn’t”), equivalent to “Once upon a time” in English, and “Olipa kerran” in Finnish, are the phrases we use to signify that we are telling a tale, puttings events and subjects in a mix of truth and fantasy. To me Art forms, like stories, weave the environment, resources, knowledge, tools, and ideas together—they embody multiple narratives that reflect what was, and what wasnt.
